Realizing the scarcity of education in this educationally backward region, The Late Sri Rudramuni Mahaswamiji established the Sri Rudraswamy Rural Vidya Vardhaka Sangha (Reg.), Kanakagiri. Under the aegis of this organization, the Primary School was started in the year 1988- 89. Subsequently, by establishing the High School in 1992-93, He undertook the noble task of providing not only education but also cultural values (Samskara) to the poor children of this region.

In accordance with the Swamiji’s resolve that no child in this backward region should be
deprived of education due to poverty, the institution has set minimal fees, thereby becoming a beacon of light in the lives of talented students. It is a matter of great pride for us that tens of thousands of students who have studied in our institution have served and continue to serve in high positions across the state and the country.
The motto of our institution is that Anna (Food), Akshara (Education), and Arivu (Knowledge)
must be accessible to everyone.
